This young dynamic duo has gone from strength to strength. With their fantastic light show, & 60’s costumes this Duo will not be easy to forget.
Sophie Green & Paul King forms the duo Decade. With Sophie being 19 & Paul 21 they do a variety of songs you would not expect! Infact it’s the name of the duo that gives the show away. They sing songs from the decades. First stop down memory lane is the swinging 60’s. The last stop is full of today’s music. So, really it only makes sense why they are called Decade!
At the tender age of 19 Sophie has a lot of experience under her belt. She’s always been into singing & even at the age of 3 she used to make her own songs up obviously no one knew what she was going on about, but she was always happy when she was singing.
Kylie was one of her influences, if you checkout the Decade website you’ll see some embarrassing photos of Sophie with her beloved Kylie Jumper on! Sophie went on to win her first talent show at the age of 7,on holiday at sunny Skegness. At the age of 10 Sophie sang live on The Big Breakfast’s pushy mother slot, hosted by Johnny Vaughan & Denise Van Outen. Then went on to sing Live on the Saturday show in an Atomic Kitten competition. Sophie’s also met quite a few famous faces & sang to the likes of Lamar & Daniel Bedingfield.
As soon as she left school she went to work at a holiday camp as a coat entertainer leaving all her family & friends behind! While the season had finished & it was time to go back home until the next season, Sophie went on to do various auditions for girl bands. She was lucky enough to make it into one of these bands & was then signed up by an independent Record label. With it being an independent label things didn’t go to plan & the band end up splitting up after a year.
Paul however has been in show business since he can remember. Paul’s dad used to be on the circuit & that’s what drove Paul in wanting to do it. He used to go out with his dad as a roadie & help him set up. His dad turned his act from a magician to a solo singer, & Paul began getting more involved with the show. While all this was happening Paul was also at college studying Music Technology & having private drumming lessons. See ever since Paul can remember all he wanted to do was play the drums, in the early days of Decade he played his conga drums on stage, but he still wanted to be noticed. He then went on to take part in the TV drama playing the field; he was in 7 episodes & even had his own speaking parts! Nowadays Paul likes to spend his spare time in his studio, recording & producing. Decade are in the stages of recording their 1st album, which is all being done in Paul’s studio. They do all their own vocals, backing vocals & harmonies then Paul goes on to produce the album, which hopefully will be out next year.
